Our philosophy on puppies here at Sonkist is simple: we only breed a litter when we intend to keep something for our show program and as an addition to our family. We do not breed to meet puppy demand. Our dogs are part of our family, and we want each puppy we raise to have the best life possible...with a loving family.
For these reasons, we generally only have a litter every 3 or so years.
Careful planning goes into selecting a stud dog that will compliment our female for temperament, breed structure, and bloodline compatibility. Our puppies are raised in our home, exposed to a wide variety of stimuli from the day they are born that help prepare them to be successful and well adjusted members of their future families. We follow a limited vaccination protocol developed by Dr Jean Dodds, feed high quality food to all of our dogs, and prior to going to their new homes each puppy has their eyes examined by a licensed ophthalmologist and a visit to our vet for a wellness checkup.
If you are interested in being considered for one of our puppies, please email us at sonkistk9@yahoo.com and provide details on your home, experience with dogs, plans for a puppy, and other information that will help us determine if you are a good fit for one of our dogs.
Puppies are not made to order...while your preference on sex and/or color are valued, because we have spent every day with these puppies for 8 weeks before they go to their new homes and are in the best position to understand their personalities and that of their parents/grandparents/great grandparents, we match puppies with their new homes based on what we believe will be the best fit for both puppy and new family.
All companion/performance puppies are sold on contract with standard health guarantees, limited registration application, a spay/neuter requirement, and a non-refundable deposit to hold your place on our list.
We do not offer puppies oversees...US / Canadian homes only.
