About Us
Heather and Paul Scott
Hall of Fame Kennel, Sonkist Aussies is a small hobby kennel located in Southern California owned by Heather and Paul Scott.
Heather has been involved in Aussies since 1990, when she obtained her first Aussie, a blue merle male named Tyler (Country-Way's Beau Monde, akc CDX, asca CD, NA, CGC. Together. Heather and Tyler trained and trialed in obedience, agility, and Jr handling. Tyler was neutered at a year of age and he and Heather grew up together - he's responsible for all we've accomplished over 30 years later )
When Tyler retired due to health problems, Heather purchased Cooper in 1999 (AKC/ASCA CH Calais Skors of Options, DNA-CP, PT, CGC) from Terri Morgan and Selena Poplin. After finishing his AKC and ASCA championships, Cooper was limitedly specialed and ended the 04/05 show year as ASCA Merit Dog #27, and 05/06 ASCA Merit Dog #17 and was invited both years to the ASCA National Specialty Conformation Invitational. Cooper sired multiple Champions and lived his retirement in a wonderful home in Colorado until he passed away in 2010.
In 2007 we were blessed with a very special boy...Tucker (akc/HOF asca CH Calais Carolina CallMeClassic, dna-vp) was our gorgeous red merle male from Terri Morgan and Selena Poplin. He was by HOF ASCA/AKC CH Carolina Bayshore Birdcage and out of ASCA/AKC CH Calais Carolina Mustang Sally, STDs (05/06 #1 ASCA Merit Dog and winner of 2006 Conformation Invitational). He was a multiple BOB and BOS winner, finished his ASCA Championship at 11 months of age, and his AKC Championship at 22 months of age. Tucker's first ASCA Nationals was a dream come true. At just 22 months of age, he Premiered at two of the three pre-shows, made the cut at the other pre-show, and assisted his dam Sal in winning a huge Brood Bitch class!! During his selective career as a stud dog, he sired multiple Champion offspring, including ASCA National Specialty Circuit BOB, BOS and Premier CH winners, recognized as an ASCA Hall of Fame Sire.
Emmi (ASCA/AKC CH Carolina Calais On The Fly) joined Sonkist in late 2007...THANK YOU to Terri Morgan, Selena Poplin, and Elizabeth Stibley for sharing her with us!!! Emmi went WB at a pre-show and WB/BOW at the WI ASCA Nationals in 2006 to finish her Championship (that's where Heather first saw Emmi and fell in love!), and won the Open Black Bitch class at the 2006 USASA Natls. At the 2008 USASA Nationals she won Winners Bitch and an Award of Merit!!
In five short months of campaigning, Emmi went from an unranked champion to ASCA's Number 1 Intact Conformation Merit Dog!! She had a terrific National Specialty in Vegas, winning Best Opp at the first pre-show, Premiering at the other two pre-shows, finishing 2nd at the Intact Conformation Finals, and winning Best Opposite at the 2008 ASCA National Specialty under SBJ Rick Gann. Emmi finished her AKC Championship in January 2009 and in limited showing was a multiple AKC BOB winner. Emmi finished the 2008/2009 ASCA show year as the #1 Intact Conformation Merit winner for the second year in a row, this time with over 2400 points to her credit...a high point record she held for 10 years. Thank you to all of the judges who have made her show career such a success!!
Emmi excelled in the show ring and has also made her mark as a Hall of Fame Dam, winning the Brood Bitch class at the 2013 ASCA National Specialty, and producing notable offspring including #2 ASCA Conformation Merit Dog and ASCA National Specialty BOS winner, ASCA/AKC GCH Sonkist Evening At The Emmys "Lena."
We are fortunate to have a few Emmi kids, grandkids, and now great grandkids residing at Sonkist to carry Emmi's memory on, including ASCA National Specialty premier Champions, multiple ASCA National Specialty Best Opp, and ASCA National Specialty A-Best of Breed winners. Emmi has a very special place in my heart, and I'm forever grateful to my Calais/Carolina family for allowing this amazing dog to join our family. We're honored to be nick-named "Calais/Carolina West" - love you guys!!
In the 32 years since being bitten by the dog show bug, Heather has competed with and titled dogs in obedience, agility, and junior showmanship and garnered multiple High In Trial, Best Junior Handler, Best of Breed, and Best In Specialty Show awards. She enjoys mentoring others in the breed and continually learning from mentors of her own. I enjoy giving back to a sport that taught me the value of hard-work, dedication, and encouraged my love of Aussies.
In late 2014, we welcomed another great guy into the Sonkist family...I married Paul Scott. Together we enjoy staying active, going to country concerts, and vacationing. I continue to enjoy showing my dogs at shows, as well as promoting my Mary Kay Cosmetics and Show Bling businesses. I'm blessed that Paul has embraced this crazy dog show life and loves our dogs just like I do! You'll find him setting up our camp area at each show, handling RV parking and golf carts at the ASCA Nationals, and then hanging out with his best bud on the golf course.
In addition to working full time, Heather enjoys riding her horse, training and showing our dogs, and you'll also find her running three home-based businesses:
- Heather is an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, and has used the products for over 25 years, and has sold them for over 15 years. I love skin care, makeup and body care, and love Mary Kay - hope I get to share them with you too! Shop the online collection at my personal website .
- Heather also started Show Bling by Heather Scott in 2020, sharing my love for blingy apparel, and dog accessories. You can shop via my etsy store, and see photos on my facebook business page and our website.
- Paul and Heather enjoy staying active and physically fit, so in late 2022, Heather decided to take her love of heath and fitness from a personal to a professional level and obtained my Certified Personal Trainer certification in October 2022. You can find me online for coaching and training, and tips for healthy meals plus my favorite shops at Let's Get Fit!
